Site Investigation

We have particular experience with the provision of full site investigation. Our general management approach to site investigation enables us to provide resources necessary for a wide range of projects. For example, we have undertaken investigations in Cleethorpes, Clacton and Ipswich for three major sewer tunnel for Anglian Water. These required a variety of exploratory equipment including traditional shell and auger boring, soft ground coring with multi-barrel wireline systems, Dutch cone penetration testing, full scale pumping tests, down-hole geophysics.

Elsewhere, we have mobilised geophysical field teams able to undertake route surveys of extensive pipe line routes. During the investigation of contaminated sites we adopt appropriate procedures. Our crews operate with the necessary level of personal protection, up to and including full personal environment suits. Our sampling procedures can be modified to allow for full steam cleaning to prevent cross contamination and protection to the wider environment.

The extent of contamination is determined through detailed investigation involving desk studies, sampling and interpretation. It is necessary to fully assess the liabilities resulting from the contamination and to design appropriate remediation strategies.
